I’m the author of two memoirs — The Bridge to Take When Things Get Serious (C&R Press, 2013) and Miss New York Has Everything (Hatchette, 2006) — as well as several poetry collections, most recently Spot the Terrorist! (Turning Point, 2012). I’m a teacher and a mother, a freelance journalist and former flight attendant who still dreams of eating Greek salads in Greece. My husband, Dave Newman, is a poet and novelist. Our two-writer, two-kid household means we have more books and toys than we do furniture, and that’s a good thing.
